I am a documentary filmmaker, writer, film valuer and Honorary Research Associate in the School of Communication, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, UTS. I am currently working on a digital archival project: ‘memory=film: a filmmaker’s diary’, drawn from my 30 year super 8 collection, and a nonfiction essay-memoir about neo-colonising in the Kimberley, ‘Notes From a Dry Town’. My previous documentary was Island Home Country, produced as a doctorate at UTS and released on ABC TV and a range of local and international film festivals. My documentaries are available online (VOD) at beamAfilm
In this blog I write about documentary film, memory and history, changing forms and ethics. I also work through ideas about current projects. I began the blog as a sort of process journal while producing Island Home Country. I still continue to use it to process ideas and projects. My filmsare available on DVD from Anandi Films.
